The ruins of ancient Roça Infante is deep inside the Príncipe Natural Park.
Roça Infante D. Henrique is an old cocoa plantation abandoned by the colonialists just before independence. Today covered with vegetation is about 18 km away of the city of Santo António.
BIOSPHERE TRAILS
While there is no road built to this site yet, it is accessible only by the sea or a half day long pedestrian path in the jungle. Along the way to Infante the State the trails cross the Roça Nova Estrela, Terreiro Velho and Ribeira Fria and we’ll see monkeys, native birds, orchids and different medicinal plants, as well as rocky formations typical of volcanic islands.
A Roça Infante D.Henrique é uma antiga fazenda abandonada pelos portuguêses um pouco antes da independência. Hoje coberta de vegetação, dista da cidade de Santo António cerca de 18 Km. Ao longo da estrada para a roça Infante, os trilhos atravessam as Roças de Nova Estrela, Terreiro Velho e Ribeira Fria.
